How many gallons is that?! Must’ve cost an absolute fortune just for the liner and stone…
Makes my pond look like a puddle!

    i am sooooooo jealous

Your pond is about 1050 gallons. You should allow at least 200 gallons per Koi. That assumes you have good filtration and aeration. 5-6 fish should be it. Remember they can get big. Change 10% of your water weekly.

Hi there, I am currently building a pond in my backyard but unfortunately I do not have the industrial equipment you have, just a wheelbarrow and spade. It is currently about 7 foot by 5 foot and 4 foot deep and was just wondering how many koi I should have? Your LAKE is absolutely amazing.

  • hawkfan61:

Appreciate the kind words about the pond. We really enjoy it.

  • heat3dw:

    incredible pond!

You just know that sh*t cost more than my whole house. I can only dream of a pond like that. What do you suppose is the minimum size (in gallons and rough dimensions) for about 10 grown Koi ? What would filtration for it cost ?

  • mancini76:

How long did it take to do all this? Was the price reasonable?

  • koipondtv:

awesome video it looks like an awesome pond. check out mine you’ll go nuts…

  • Lambo6fo:

Thats one hot pond! Great job on it!

  • hawkfan61:

Live in a nice area. Plus they would have to have big nets and knowledge to catch these large fish in a deep pond. Plus it is only a few feet from the house.

  • boogie8ball:

dont you worry about thieves stealing the fish, looks like a small fence protecting a large investment there

  • mister2driver:

AWESOMWE POND. I give mad props to the workers involved in building this masterpiece.

  • WESTCRSON:

Nice Job. Those are some nice bomber Koi!

    The Pond Digger

  • That was a pretty well planned Koi pond, what a great job. I had no idea how much was involved in a bigger koi pond. I am sure I would be hiring people to do ours when we are ready.

  • Now that was totally amazing. What a great job.

I can see that I would never be building one like this myself. I would definitely hire a professional but it gives me a great overview of what I need in a pond.

    Thanks for the video.

The pond is actually bigger than our backyard is. :)
